Syracuse Wedding Photographer | Caitlyn Bom Photography bio picture
  • I was given this opportunity to photograph people for a living, and it's something I take very seriously. I love what I do, and it amazes me the connections I've made through this career in such a short span of time. I love it when a bride glows on her wedding day, how a baby makes a goofy face when dad tickles them, how a family gets a kick out of an uncle's knock-knock joke. I'm not just a photographer, I'm an artist, but above all I'm a journalist. I know what interactions between friends and family means, and I know my job is to capture those moments that are real, which are true to who you are, not what I create. I love getting the “big picture” while focusing on a split second.

You can expect me to answer my emails at 11pm, you can expect me to give you advice if you need it, and you can expect me to bring 110% of my energy to put into your wedding!

So if you feel that you have connected with my work, and you like what you just read, email or call me! Yes, even if it is 11pm. I'll probably answer!

Syracuse Wedding Photographer – Samantha & Jeff’s Sackets Harbor Engagement Part II

For Samantha, it started in Junior year of high school when she transferred to the Sackets Harbor school district. He was the fourth grade teacher at the small k-12 school, and she had what she calls “a LITTLE crush” (yes, LITTLE;)). She would talk about him to her friends, teachers, even to her parents. While her parents picked on her for this LITTLE crush, they also fostered the relationship a bit by inviting him to her grad party, and she was a LITTLE excited he attended. Hehe.

Samantha left for college in Cazenovia, and Sophomore year of college Jeff got in contact with her, and attended one of her games against his alma mater Oswego…

Small talk eventually turned into dates, and with both families encouraging their relationship and supporting them through some very large trials and tribulations, this is where they are now.

In Samantha’s words:

“Life now is amazing. I graduated college early to start my amazing life with Jeff and I am so happy I made that decision. He has been my biggest fan, as am I his.”

Thank you both for sharing your love with everyone around you, you’re truly an inspiring couple.:)It was a lot of fun photographing your session at “Old Mcdonald’s Farm“, which has been such a large part of both of your lives. I’m really excited for your wedding!

Syracuse Band Photographer – Armed with Valor

I was contacted a few weeks ago by Doug, who told me he’d just put together a group of talented people. Of course I, being used to the absolutely crazy artistic ideas that come out of this guy’s head thought Oh yay! Okay, so are we gonna top the zombie shoot? (Some of you may remember that from last year. Epic).

He told me they had all decided something studio. Wait, hold on, what?! Studio? Like…a blank backdrop?

Oh. My. Goodness.

Okay, I panicked a little. A band in my studio? Okay, I can do this, I’ve done stuff like this before, right? Yup.

I went against my better judgement and let Doug talk me into doing these shots in my studio. I gotta say, I don’t regret it at all!

Thank you Doug for thinking of me, and I also want to thank Fred, Stephanie, and Brad. You guys ROCK. No, literally….;)

So without further ado, I present to you Armed With Valor (Go “like” their page!):

Our favorite [serious] shot (because Stephanie is a little ray of sunshine and can’t stop laughing hehe):

But when you’re with these guys, you really can’t help but have a good time!

Some fun photos:

Syracuse Wedding Photographer – Wedding Wednesday – Kim & Tom’s Thorndon Park Wedding!

I can’t eat anything…Can someone get me some Tums? Kimberly looked nervously around at all the other women in the gorgeous Bridal Suite. Everyone was a little nervous, you could just tell the anticipation was building up. Kim was about to marry her best friend, Tom.

All of her anxiety melted away though as she ascended the stairs at Thorndon Park, up around the beautiful miniature waterfall to her husband-to-be. Tom waited patiently at the top of what seemed to be a mountain above the crowed, and Kim’s face lit up as she approached him. As the justice of peace spoke to them and the crowed, Kim fought back tears of happiness.

Tom and Kim… Saad and I are both very appreciative to have had a chance to document your union of love and family!

Kim and her Tums, and the dress Gram made for Chloe!

I L-O-V-E it when clients ask me “Where is a really cool place to do photos?” And I get a chance to show them my favorite abandoned spots:)

A beautiful shot captured by Saad from another angle, I had to include it!

This Corvette was to die for! And of course so were the rings, so I had to put the two together!
