Birthday!

Hello all! This isn’t Caitlyn. And she doesn’t know about this blog post. Yet.

So let me introduce myself, I’m Saad. I’m the other photographer during the weddings, I like to think of myself as the brains behind the operation (Just indulge me!). And I’m here to wish Caitlyn a very happy Birthday! Now I’ve learned to never reveals a girl’s age, so let’s just say Caitlyn is fresh out of university young. And within this relatively short life, she’s started a successful business, opened a studio, and taken this venture into something we never imagined it would go. Through her grit, determination and sheer passion that brought us this far, and I think an accomplishment like that should be at least recognized. I asked some of our wedding clients if they like to wish her too.

Syracuse Wedding Photographer – Danielle & Tim’s Orchard Engagement!

Danielle stepped off the plane, butterflies fluttering full force inside her. She had only spent the last month getting to know him again, it had been years since they had seen one another. Their paths just kept crossing over the years, but the timing had never been right. Tim had always wanted to score a date with Danielle, but it just never worked out. This time, it was go big or go home…

Okay, so enough of this catching up, when are you going to come out and visit me here in the desert?

Tim was living in Arizona, enjoying life. He was building a business and traveling all the time for it. He had recently built a beautiful house, but something was missing. The elements that turned a house into a home. When he received a random message from Danielle on Myspace, he took that opportunity and ran with it.

Oh I don’t know… when I have a thousand dollars for a plane ticket?!

Danielle had always admired Tim. He was one of the great guys that hung out with all the girls, but not someone she had thought about dating back in high school.

Fate struck, after all those years and all those random crossings through out life

No, I meant I’m booking your flight right now, how soon can you come out to visit?

It had been over 5 years since they had run into each other last. Danielle, feeling overwhelmed by the gesture initially said no but broke down due to Tim’s ever lasting persistence.

What the hell. Sure, why not?!

He greeted her in true Arizona fashion with a bottle of water and in true Tim fashion with the biggest bear hug Danielle had ever received. Tim prepared a beautiful and romantic steak dinner, complete with a bottle of wine (the empty bottle still sits in their living room). Only later did Danielle realize just how special this event was, because Tim doesn’t like to cook!

I LOVE Danielle’s constant bubbly personality, when she gets excited or happy about something, and it doesn’t take much, she REALLY gets excited about it! Danielle didn’t realize this, but I adore when she randomly reaches down and kisses my hand or arm when we are sitting or standing together somewhere…

Here are a few favorites from their engagement session….

A Very Thoughtful Thanksgiving

It’s that time of year that everyone updates their status daily for a month straight saying exactly what they are thankful for. It’s a reminder that we should take a break from our every day lives and really just smile about something positive (because we all know, the rest of the year we kinda just keep pushing forward). I love taking this particular day to really reflect on what I have to be thankful for. Of course I should really do this weekly or daily, maybe I’ll start that..

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: I am thankful for my family and their support in this endeavor. Who knew I’d own my own business at 22 (now 23)? I mean, I’m sure my dad got the hint when I was 14, working at Dunkin Donuts and exclaiming that “if I owned my own place I’d run things so much better!” We’ve gotten a couple chuckles out of that. I mean when your dad starts randomly telling people in a grocery store that his daughter owns her own business (true story!) you know just know it’s gonna be alright!

A really big “THANK YOU!” to all my wonderful clients who have seriously been there to support me as well. Every single client I’ve had has always been so positive about my work and even some personal struggles. When my grandmother passed away recently, I was overwhelmed with happiness at the amount of cards and kind words not only clients but client’s friends and family sent me. I wouldn’t have nearly the amount of strength that I do now without your support.

So a million “thank you’s”, especially for the amazing meal my dad prepared (cause he’s awesome)!
