Syracuse Wedding Photographer – Leann & Ryan’s Engagement!

It’s rather ironic really, when you think about it.

I always ask my clients how they met, because I love hearing the love stories they have to share. I love it when I hear about when they first met, and “that moment” when they realized they were in love with each other. I’m into mushy stuff. I have an excuse, I’m a wedding photographer! And a girl…

Little did I expect to hear that Ryan’s poor little heart had been broken by Leann already. That’s right! Of course, they were in fourth grade though. Ryan did the right thing in continuing to pursue Leann if you ask me. Look at them now!

Syracuse Wedding Photographer – That’s right…I’m legit!

So if you asked me a year ago whether I saw myself taking pictures of people in love, I’d probably have told you, “most definitely not”. I was pretty much just running around taking pictures of plants, squished bugs, and spilled candy. I called that art.

I’m weird.

Ask me today though, whether I see myself going places? Yes, I do. Very much so. This past Sunday put a few things into perspective for me. About a month ago a woman named Mary Jo contacted me from the Post-Standard and asked if I’d like to have a picture published in their wedding section. It just needed to include what the venue was and why I enjoyed photographing there.

I’ll admit, I had to read the email a few times to realize it wasn’t spam.

So here it is, my little blip on the radar. Here’s to making a bigger splash in the future! Thank you Megan and Don for being such a cute couple and having such wonderful taste!

Love is one of the most pure art forms out there, I’m happy to say I can capture and share it with others :)

Syracuse Wedding Photographer – Sarah & Dave’s Engagement

I told you not to fall in love with me.” – A Walk to Remember

Yes, I just quoted one of the most sappy movies in the world. That movie that most girls cry over and guys hate (and at least shed a tear or two over. Don’t lie, I know you did). That is the quote that my mind was directed to after hearing Sarah and Dave’s story, though I’m quite happy that it wasn’t nearly for the same reasons.

Sarah is a strong woman, very driven in what she wants, and what she wanted was to travel and teach French. She has visited many different countries already, in fact, she’ll be visiting Europe again within the next few months! She even came up with a quirky thing to do when visiting other countries, and made a facebook page for it. I’ll share that later ;) .

Dave on the other hand, while driven, is quite the laid back gentleman. In fact, when Sarah first met him, she had put him in the “friends” category due to his laxness on his shaving habits. She was absolutely shocked when he showed up at her door step with a shaved face after she agreed to go out on a date. She said, “That was when I knew I could go through with it, I could be in a relationship with this man. He was so handsome!”

Then later came the part where that quote got stuck in my head. She told him that she didn’t think he should pursue her, simply because she had no idea where she would end up. It was her last year of college and she wanted to travel, possibly even move abroad. That didn’t stop him though, he stuck through it the entire time she was gone. Even when she came back, they managed to keep the relationship alive through a 3-4 hour commute! That is dedication in my book.

You both worked hard for this, and it’s obvious how much you love each other. I’m so happy you decided to include me as part of your big day!

My drink is the girly one ;)

May, The Month of “I do”!

Phew, this has been quite the month to say the least! 1 graduation, 5 weddings, and 31 days later I have gotten through it in one piece! My sanity may be a little off kilter though ;)

I want to thank every single one of you couples, as well as your families, for hiring me. You have been absolutely amazing through the entire process of wedding planning, itinerary making, family gathering, and cheek agony (from all the smiling that you did!). You were all very beautiful people, and I consider myself VERY lucky for having had such a photogenic month of couples!

So enough words, how about some sneak previews?!

Exciting New Update – SyracuseBoudoir.com!

That’s right! I decided to dedicate an entire website to my boudoir sessions! Syracuse Boudoir, check it out! I’ve been getting a lot of inquiries for this type of shoot lately so I decided that it deserved it’s own little space on the web. I find these sessions so exilerating, mostly because it is a very forward and modern way for a woman to represent herself. It really takes courage to do a boudoir session, and I respect all you ladies who have hired me to do yours as well as all my future clients. I really feel that everyone has something to bring to the lens. These sessions are perfect not only to give as gifts for weddings, anniversaries or just because, but for yourself as well.

I asked one of the ladies I did a boudoir session with why she decided to do it:

“As far as the boudior shoot, why I did it is … I really enjoy going home and looking at something that really makes me feel pretty :) I definitely don’t have the mentality of most models … I don’t have low self esteem by any means, but I certainly don’t feel pretty very often! I also think it will be amazing to be able to look back in 20-30 years and be able to show people what I once looked like… Their all memories that you just cant take back!! And it never gets old to have your significant others jaw hit the ground when he see’s the final results :)

See? Not just for the significant other, but for herself as well! ;)

Tiffany had a LOT of personality to give the camera during today’s session! It was hard to get her to stop smiling :) I’m in love with nearly all her images. Great job Tiffany!

Syracuse Photographer – Happy Holidays!

I just want to wish everyone out there a very happy Holiday season! To all my clients so far, you have been absolutely wonderful, and to all my future clients — I can’t wait to work with you!

I have been lucky enough to find this passion, this art which lets me feel free and feel like myself again. I do feel truly blessed to have all the support of close friends and family. I want to also give a shout out to all my facebook fans! I never expected to have such a following! :)

I also want to note that this semester has been incredibly trialing on me, I am promising myself now to keep up with photography as much as humanly possible through this next semester. I am happy to say that next semester looks like it will be much less stressful :)

So once again, Happy Holidays! Be safe, and have fun!!!

Syracuse Photographer – Maternity Session

Brandy was an absolutely gorgeous model today! This is my first maternity session, and I’ve got to say I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately the weather outside was blah so we decided to stay indoors and use the studio instead.

Brandy and Dave, congratulations! I can’t wait to post up a picture of your new little girl when she arrives! :)
