They have known each other since high school. These two kept their friendship strong through the same circle of friends, but it wasn’t until an unplanned first date at Tully’s that they realized their connection was much stronger than they had originally thought. Perhaps it was Marilyn’s love for life, and her quick smile. Maybe it was Carl’s die hard romantic personality, his ability to relax and not take life too seriously? In fact, Carl had been crushing on Marilyn for years!
Whatever it was, their time together at Tully’s led to a first kiss, and then their first dinner date together (that same night)!
Carl proposed to Marilyn the day after her birthday, on July 24, 2010 in Niagara Falls. She had assumed the entire trip was for her birthday, and while Marilyn was enjoying the view from the hotel room balcony Carl came up behind her. She noticed his heart racing against her back and began picking on him for being nervous. When she realized he was holding a box, she assumed it was a watch, but when he began proposing everything became a blur. Carl has a knack for surprises, and this one was it. For Carl it was a dream come true, she said yes, and here I have the opportunity to share their love with you.
Marilyn & Carl originally had a different location in mind, but it didn’t work out. Luckily they lived really close to downtown Rochester!
