She’s a boyfriend stealer & Derek was the unsuspecting stolen “property”.
It all started in middle school, since they were always 2 lockers away from each other. A friend of a friend had been dating Derek through 8th grade, and in her words:
“It’s such middle school drama, but I was secretly waiting for them to break up for several months and I must have done something right because he ended up asking me out the same night he broke up with my friend, haha.”
So in true middle school fashion, Ashley made poor Derek wait all night before receiving her answer through her best friend Kylee the next day in the hallway! That’s true romance folks…. Hehe
So Derek exacted his revenge (at least that’s my opinion) by buying her engagement ring this past July and making her wait until [the perfect moment] in October! I’d say that’s a really good way to exact revenge!
In Ashley’s words, Derek is:
“…incredibly thoughtful, hard working, loving, funny, serious, and laid back. I think he compliments me so nicely because I know I have a crazy, emotional side and he is so calm and rational that it definitely keeps me at bay! He knows exactly what makes me happy and what makes me laugh. And he is definitely one of the best friends any person could ask for.”
Ashley and Derek are getting married in style at the MOST (Museum of Science and Technology), and I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of their wedding. We met through my doing Kylee & Tyler’s wedding last year. A special “thank you” goes to Kylee for saying some absolutely wonderful things about her experience last year and ensuring that this was possible.
